Litchfield Hills
Archaeology Club
Join fellow teachers, art historians, professional and avocational archaeologists, students and anyone with an interest in discovering more about the past! The Litchfield Hills Archaeology Club offers a setting for exchange of ideas, lectures and activities covering a wide range of archaeology-related topics and opportunities to participate in local trips.
The Club is held every Sunday during the late Spring and Summer at a local archaeology site. During the off-season, the Club sponsors archaeology lectures the second Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at the Institute for American Indian Studies museum building (with the exception of January – March).
For information please contact Dr. Lucianne Lavin at llavin.iais@charter.net or call (860) 868-0518. Visit the Institute’s web site at www.birdstone.org for the list of upcoming lectures.
The public is welcome. Annual membership is $35 per person and $50 for a family, and includes free admission to lectures and an invitation to join or annual summer dig. For non-members there is a $5 fee per lecture.
